The GT-R's rear has been extended at the sides to accelerate air away from the back of the bumper, helping to pull hot gases away and cool the exhaust.

A carbon-fiber trunk lid adds stiffness, while weighing nearly half as much as a standard trunk lid. Its smooth surface has been painted so you won't see a difference, but since lighter equals faster, you'll feel it on the track. Top it with the carbon fiber spoiler for mighty downforce, and increased stability.

The headlights feature four LED units to create an extremely natural light, replicating daylight, while also offering increased illumination. The super-wide-beam headlights expand the area of illumination toward the sides of the car, enhancing visibility, especially when cornering.

The average car has exposed working gear underneath, creating lift and drag and slowing you down. The GT-R, of course, isn't an average car. Its underbody is covered by composite panels, giving it a flat, aerodynamic surface.

That big spoiler and all those scoops and vents aren't just there to look cool - they're all doing something. The spoiler is creating downforce. Those ridges on the air dam and vents on the back bumper are managing air flow towards the rear. The vents behind the front fenders are cooling the brakes and creating more downforce, and the scoops on the bonnet and the signature grille are cooling the engine.

At the front of the car, the flat underbody is accelerating the air and channelling it over the brakes, cooling them down. At the back, a carbon-fibre diffuser takes that accelerated air and slows it down, creating a vacuum effect that helps the GT-R stick to the road, or the track.

The combination meter uses meshing gears as a design cue. The tachometer is placed in the centre, with the large gear change indicator on the upper right, supporting the driver with easy readability when driving on the circuit.

The rotary control on the centre console lets you control key functions through the 8" touchscreen. By rotating the dial, or pushing it to the left and right, you can scroll through all the menus and easily select the option you require.

The 11 speaker Bose audio system works with the performance features of the GT-R. The aluminium speaker mounts in the doors give the body rigidity, which has nothing to do with music and everything to do with performance. In the back, two subwoofers between the seats were designed to use the trunk as a giant bass enclosure.

The GT-R's award-winning 3.8-litre V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine now delivers 570PS at 6800 rpm and 637Nm of torque, representing an increase of 20PS and 5Nm, courtesy of individual ignition-timing control of the cylinders and extra boost from the turbochargers.

The GT-R now provides two dual 5" titanium exhaust outlets. Titanium is notoriously difficult to work with, but meets the demanding requirement to aid with cooling the engine's prodigious output. Each exhaust is hand-built by a master craftsman, and is specifically designed for an individual vehicle, making it a true example of performance art.

The longer a shift takes, the less time power is being put to the ground. So for maximum acceleration, the GT-R has paddle-shifted 6-speed sequential dual-clutch transmission meaning you can snap off lightning-quick gear changes in just 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode - almost as quickly as you can blink.

6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers are machined from a one-piece "monoblock" of aluminium for extreme rigidity with light weight. Cross-drilled rotors feature diamond-shaped ventilation ribs, while a full-floating rotor allows the outer disc to expand away from the hub, helping reduce the tendency of the rotor to warp.

Instead of the traditional 50/50 torque split between front and rear axles, the GT-R's electronically controlled All-Wheel Drive system is designed to provide up to nearly 100% of available torque to the rear wheels and send up to 50% of torque to the front wheels. This provides the steering feel and response of a Rear-Wheel Drive vehicle, while still giving the confidence and control that only an All-Wheel Drive vehicle can offer.
